Ghost Stories from the Pacific Northwest

Ghost Stories from the Pacific Northwest

Author: Margaret Read MacDonald

I was asked by folklorist Bill McNeil to compile this book for a ghost stories series he was editing. I did not at all believed in ghosts when I started. After completing this research, well... I’m not so sure.

These are short accounts of actual ghost sightings in the Pacific Northwest. They are not retold for the storyteller. I provide a detailed motif-index to these tales based on the Stith Thompson Motif-Index of Folk-Literature.
